Debug IP OSPF Packet
Use
Displays the actual packets sent and received by OSPF.
Syntax
Router#debug ip ospf packet
Example
In this example, OSPF packet debugging is enabled on R2.
R2(config-router)#do debug ip ospf packet OSPF packet debugging is on
Here are some of the output after turnning on debugging.
R2(config-router)# *Mar 1 02:04:07.363: OSPF: rcv. v:2 t:1 l:48 rid:133.133.133.133 aid:0.0.0.0 chk:C582 aut:0 auk: from FastEthernet1/0 R2(config-router)# *Mar 1 02:04:10.395: OSPF: rcv. v:2 t:1 l:48 rid:111.111.111.111 aid:0.0.0.0 chk:F3B2 aut:0 auk: from FastEthernet0/0
Afterwards, here is the command issued to disable all debugging on the router.
R2(config-router)#do un all All possible debugging has been turned off
